Community Words are a series of posts to showcase writings made by some of the beautiful people who’ve written alongside me during my writing workshops ~ to create a community of words, to uplift, support and inspire each other. This is about heart/soul/roots/raw writing. It’s about the ‘feels’ of the words and the shivers in between.
Listen to Cheer recite At some point we will heal that drought:
At some point we will heal that drought But before that, let’s not pretend it’s not there It has been lurking there Sucking energy and joy away Me left with no strength To do the things I am usually good at I would like to love and care and Listening to everyone’s intricate thoughts, Distresses Reminding us in nature we will find our embraces There is always a path for a lost traveller In fact, always too many paths We can shatter things together Social norms Biases and prejudices But it will be up to the flowers to heal the broken hearts Hey, can we just lie down here Under this almost summer sunshine And just breathe At some point there will be rain At some point my heart can grow big again And contain more care I want to love humanity as well as individual persons I want to embed myself in nature and live and die in nature Develop the ability to nurture some plants Appreciate how the dogs and cats Love nature but also so domesticated Just like me So domesticated And detached from nature In nature, perhaps I can heal the drought in my heart That burnout In nature we love and reproduce But no mum, I don’t want to follow what you deemed to be the course of nature I don’t want a baby yet.
