Dal I love your offerings, but this one especially so. Just prior to visiting India in February my father made a comment about my grandfather. It transpires that he was based in Srinigar in WW2 and fell in love with the culture, apparently he didn’t want to return, even though my uncle had already been born by this point. This was never spoken about openly for some reason (?), and the more I dug the more I discovered. By all accounts he constantly spoke of returning but sadly this never happened. My yatra in February then became something more ancestral with the country than I ever could have imagined. He even sought out someone once back home to show my grandmother how to cook his favourite foods that he had enjoyed. This explains why my grandparents house always had a deep spicy, earthy aroma. No one else was invited to meals on a Saturday because this was the meal he would enjoy, maintaining his passion and link to the culture. Will look at your offering - will be so lovely to be in community with you again.
